More flexibility - tipper with a loading crane

There are many different kinds of tippers. They are distinguishing in their size and kind in the construction of the tipping bridge. But all of them have a hydraulic lifting technology.
Nowadays tipping bridges are available open and closed, with a capacity of one to 30 m³. There are two companies which are producing most of all tipper trailers: Kässbohrer with its focus on silo tippers and Meiller which manufacturers many kinds of tipper trailers.

Tippers are differentiated in rear dumper and three-way tipper. Rear dumpers unload at the back of the trailer over the tailgate. Three-way tippers can be unloaded on both sides and through the tailgate. Which materials are transported depends on the purpose of the tipper. This can be civil engineering, or open-cast mining, agriculture or municipal companies.

There are many developments in utility vehicles like special trailers. One of these special trailers is the crane tipper. This one has the crane between the tipping bridge and the driver’s cabin. This combination results in more flexibility. It can be applied in many fields of applications. Often are three-way tippers fitted with a crane. The crane is used when not the whole load has to be unloaded. The crane is sometimes fitted with shovels.

When you do not need such a tipper daily it does not make sense to buy one. Tippers with loading cranes are also available for renting. For example an Atego by Mercedes-Benz which has a front or a rear crane, or a truck by MAN with a loading crane by the Austrian company Palfinger.

Not all utility vehicle manufacturers are offering tippers with loading cranes. But it is always possible to add on a crane. Companies which are producing tippers are often combining them with cranes by HIAB, ATLAS and Fassi.
Further manufacturers of tippers, tipping bridges or tippers with loading cranes are the German companies Carnehl, Kempf, Dautel, Fliegl, Liebherr, Magirus-Deutz, Multicar-Hako, VW and in Italy Iveco, in the Netherlands DAF and Spijkstaal, in Russia Kamaz, in Sweden Scania and Volvo and from the USA Ford.
