Truckers need to regard the driving time regulation which should not be exceeded. Special equipment in the drivers cabin remind the trucker of how long he has been driving and how fast he has been so far. The speedometer is the most modern technology which is fitted into trucks. These are driven by a drivers card which saves the driving and rest period. With this technology the police is able to check if the driver is adhering to the states requirements.

Trucks are only allowed to drive 80 km/h in Germany. For longer trips often two drivers are required. Another variant is the express transport. For these often smaller trucks are used which have a weight of 2,8 to 3,5 tons. The payload varies between 700 and 1500 kg. These vehicles do not succumb a speed limit but the drivers also have to adhere the driving and rest periods. Manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Opel and Fiat are designing these models. The company Easyrent offers them for sale and for rent.
