Different to a normal tractor unit or a prime mover the axles of a low liner, the chassis, and the frame are a complex patchwork. The coupling height is about a meter which varies between the different brands. With this, the maximum loading height of 4 meters is not exceeded and you are able to optimally transport volumes. Some manufacturers are using leaf suspension which is not useful for low liners. The wheel size is an important detail in low liners. Normal trucks have a wheel size of 70-80 while low liners have 45-65. The arrangement of the tanks on the tractor is more stretched than on other trucks. Low liners with a full air suspension need to be adjusted depending on the load for preventing any damages on the vehicle.

The low liner is very suitable for the transports of high volumes. But this utility vehicle is of course able to be applied for other transports. The models of trailers vary depending on the manufacturer and are coupled with a so called tandem. There are also models which are fitted with a fifth wheel like for example most of the swap bodies.
