Light duties

A truck is a kind of utility vehicle with a rigid ladder frame which is called chassis, a driver’s cabin, a motor and one for the load appropriate body which is mostly solidly mounted on the chassis.

In contrast to tractor units a truck is able to carry a further trailer. Trucks are categorized in three weight classes according to their permissible maximum mass. Light duty trucks are able to carry up to 7,5 ton, medium-heavy trucks between 7,5 to 12t and heavy trucks between 12 up to 40t.

Depending on which kind of good or freight you decide on a truck body. A very often used body is for example a truck of 7,5 t with a flatbed body. This one has solid tailboards which can be opened for unloading the load. With this kind of body many different goods can be transported.

For example some bodies are fitted with a tipping mechanism for the transport of bulk materials. When the transported good is sensitive to weather conditions, a tarpaulin can be mounted for protecting the load. A tarpaulin is weather resistant, flexible applicable, durable and is also perfect as an advertising medium.

Another kind of body which can be often found at light duty trucks to 7,5 tons is the so called box body. This one is characterized by its solid walls which are in the shape of a box. Mostly this body is fixed to the chassis but to be even more flexible there are also swap bodies or containers which can be easily changed.

A special kind of a box body is the refrigerated trailer. This has insulating layers within its walls, which serve to control the temperature on the inside of the trailer. This body is suitable for the transport of groceries and flowers.
